Man, this sista sure landed on her Louboutin’d feet while the rest of us play musical chairs to stay awake at the unemployment office.
The Root reports:
Former White House social secretary and longtime friend Desiree Rogers is working in a consultancy position with the [Johnson Publishing] “to assist with corporate strategy,” says Wendy Parks, a spokeswoman for the publisher of Ebony and Jet magazines.
The news of Rogers’ hiring comes a day after it was announced that former Honey Mag chief Amy DuBois Barnett has been hired as editor-in-chief of Ebony, taking over from creative director and acting editor-in-chief Harriette Cole. Cole is leaving Ebony to work on other things. So, it seems Johnson Publishing is doing all it can to try and save the institution that is Ebony/Jet.
You’ll recall, Rogers basically got the boot after the attention-loving and sari-wearing Salahi’s crashed the Obamas’ first state dinner last November. It’s not a big surprise that a Chicago-based company is welcoming her with open arms either since she was widely regarded as a socialite in that city before the Obama’s took office. Which leads me to a random thought: why isn’t there a Real Housewives of Chicago? She’d be perfect for that.
