Madonna sat down for an extended interview with ABC’s Nightline Thursday to talk about her new movie, upcoming Super Bowl performance and her new/younger lover. Her responses were typical and you can watch the full sit-down here, if you care. But, it was a fan-submitted question that got the BEST answer from the Queen of Reinvention.

When asked what she thinks of Lady Gaga and —specifically her song “Born This Way” which sounds a lot like Madge’s “Express Yourself”— Madonna shaded the hell out of Stephanie Germanotta. Watch…

“There’s a lot of ways to look at it. I can’t really be annoyed by it …because, obviously, I’ve influenced her. When I heard it ["Born This Way"] on the radio… I said that sounds very familiar… It felt reductive,” she says. Asked by the host if that’s a good or bad thing, Madonna quickly says “look it up” — then sipped her tea!
