While You Were Out

Posted by Witch Hazel | Posted in Kanye West, Kim Kardashian | Posted on 25-05-2014

Something happened this weekend while you were sunnin’ and funnin’ and you may (or may not) care about it, but as the Rona Barrett of the ghetto, I reckon it’s my duty to report it. Or whatever.

Kim Kardashian took a bride this weekend got married again, for the _____th time (I’ve lost count). The Carters opted for a weekend in the Hamptons rather than jetting off to Italy and Kardashian brother, Rob, tearfully left before the wedding because (allegedly) he didn’t want to take pictures due to his weight gain. TMZ (they be knowin’) says Rob stormed off, calling the wedding of the century “superficial bullshit!” Well, wasn’t it?

Kim wore a gown designed by Kanye’s bestie, Riccardo Tisci of Givenchy. The same designer who set her up in that couch dress at The Met Gala last year.

In true Kanye fashion, he gave a 20 minute speech/rant/toast(?) to his new bride that included commentary about how he and Kim are treated by the media. His speech included these nuggets:

“They feel like it’s OK to put you on the tabloid covers to sell your image, to use you in an ‘SNL’ spoof.”

“We don’t negotiate. We’re not like that. We’re not stupid.”

“The Kardashians are an industry!”

“We are warriors! There is not one person at this table that has not had to defend us at some point or another.”

Talking to a table of guests, ‘Ye said:

“At this table…the combination of powers…can make the world a better place.”

Then he called them…

“…the most remarkable people of our time.”

Kanye also called his new wife the “ideal celebrity…the ideal art.” And, at this point, I would have been puking up the passed hors d’oeuvres. I mean, congrats to them.

I imagine the rest of the wedding went pretty much like this…

Brew Bits: Kimye’s Vogue Issue Selling Like Hotcakes

Posted by Witch Hazel | Posted in brew bits, Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Vogue Magazine | Posted on 10-04-2014

Ha ha, suckers! Anna Wintour’s plan to line the pockets of Condé Nast while giving a solid middle finger to the fashion world seems to be working. Despite threats by committed Vogue readers and the fashion elite to cancel memberships, it looks like the Kim Kardashian – Kanye West April 2014 cover is selling like sex tape downloads hotcakes. “Sources” predict the issue is on track to sell 300,000-400,000 copies. That would put it among the top-selling issues that featured Beyonce and First Lady Michelle Obama, respectively. Bey’s 2013 cover sold 355,000 copies. FLOTUS’ issue in April 2013 sold just under 300,000. Vogue won’t say how many issues were sold. But, I’m sure Pimp Momager Jenner is keeping count in her basement and lining Nori’s crib with them.

Kanye, Kim & North in the April 2014 Vogue Magazine

Posted by Witch Hazel | Posted in Kanye West, Kim Kardashian, Vogue Magazine | Posted on 21-03-2014

Well, Hell has surely frozen over. After famously shunning Kim Kardashian and even sanctioning that horrid couch dress at last year’s Met Gala…

…Anna Wintour caved and put a Kardashian on her beloved Vogue Magazine (y’all know Anna gets final approval of Gala fashions, right?). The Wests grabbed the cover (thanks to legendary photographer Annie Leibovitz) and an inside spread. Kim, naturally, is over the moon.

Who had to die for this? Who got jumped-in the elooominotti for this?

Check out the behind the scenes video.

So, do you think the Kardashi-Wests deserved a cover?

UPDATE 3/21/14; 2:51 pm: Anna Wintour addressed the “controversy” in her Editor’s letter:

As for the cover, my opinion is that it is both charming and touching, and it was, I should add, entirely our idea to do it; you may have read that Kanye begged me to put his fiancée on Vogue’s cover.

He did nothing of the sort. The gossip might make better reading, but the simple fact of the matter is that it isn’t true.

@Nike, @footlocker to Yeezus Crust: kick rocks

Posted by Fleur Delacour | Posted in Kanye West, nike | Posted on 26-12-2013

Black Twitter went cray after Foot Locker announced that it will NOT be releasing Yeezus Crust’s “Red October” sneaker on Dec 27th as originally planned. Well what could have caused this? Was it because North’s daddy popped an attitude and jumped shipped to Adidas and then bad mouthed Nike higher-ups at a few concert stops?

Well, Foot Locker shut it all down with one big tweet:

This dude…

Brew Tube: Arsenio Hall checks Yeezus Crust!

I love Arsenio Hall and his long ass phalanges. Recently, reporters asked him his reaction to Simp West’s interview with the Breakfast Club in which he brought up Hall as an example of what could happen when you speak out, or get too turned up and the powers that be make you go night, night!

Arsenio put things into perspective, and hit the ball out of the park!
