The Jewish Council for Education and Research tapped Samuel L. Jackson’s potty mouth to voice a short feature for the Obama-Biden campaign. There’s no better way to get your point across than having SLJ drop a four-letter word for the cause.
New York gubernatorial candidate Jimmy McMillan is riding this 15-minute wave of fame til the wheels fall off. The face of “The Rent Is Too Damn High” Party now has a little club jam about the too damn high rents sweeping the state.
His “The Rent Is Too Damn High” album will be released on Tuesday, election day. The New York Times reports it will be available on iTunes and other outlets. I can’t with this election… we’ve got witch candidates, would-be senators showing porn and alleged “whores” for governor… does anybody take politics seriously anymore?
Maybe someone on The White House’s design team should have hit the innawebs before redesigning President Obama’s Oval Office. The new and improved digs has a rug lined with quotes from some of history’s greats like John F. Kennedy and Abraham Lincoln, but when they got to a quote from Martin Luther King, Jr. that when the situation took a left turn at Ohshyt Avenue! The quote: “The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice” is a phrase the civil rights leader used frequently but King himself admits he took the quote from Massachusetts minister and abolitionist Theodore Parker. Obama has often used this quote in his speeches. Ok, who is responsible for the Wiki checks? I need answers!
During his speech to the Human Rights Campaign yesterday, President Barack Obama said he will end the ban on gays serving openly in the military. But, the President admitted that the changes he promised while campaigning have been slow to arrive.
The Virginia gubernatorial race is getting ugly, thanks to Sheila Johnson (former wife of BET founder Bob Johnson). Johnson is endorsing Republican Bob McDonnell in the race. While speaking at an event, she mocked the stutter of Democratic candidate Creigh Deeds.
Johnson says: “We need someone who can really communicate. And Bob McDonnell can communicate. The other people that I talk to, especially his o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-o-opponent… could not articulate what needed to be done.”
Take a listen.
What a low blow!
Deeds’ spokesman called Johnson’s comment a “cheap shot and a new low for this race.”
Somebody get Comcast on the phone, STAT. Cancel my BET immejitley.
